Sailing has gyrated toward racing. This is a pity. Many cruising boat designs of the last 15 years are hybrids between cruising and racing. The variety in grace and beauty of cruising yachts from the mid-twentieth century have practically disappeared. Hybrid boats are not a viable choice.

Racing ought to be practiced and enjoyed in small boats entirely dedicated to racing (between 12 feet to about 25 feet in length). Cruising boats intended for racing, too large to be trailable, are expensive and hard to maintain in top racing condition. As race boats these hybrids are a poor choice and a bad investment; and as cruising boats to do not measure up.

Cruising boats are best in sizes from 38 feet to 50 feet in length, yet many diehard cruising folk sail the world in cramped quarters and in potential danger in boats from 25 feet to 37 feet in length.

Boats in length from 16 feet to 32 feet make good day-sailing boats when designed to have a large cockpit and a deckhouse suitable for weekend cruising.

Our goal is to bring back the marvelous new-technology, wood-constructed cruising boats of the past while including, also, great modern design features.

Using modern materials with top-grade woods, our designs are better and cozier than fiberglass-constructed boats. Durable wooden boats are the choice of connoisseurs. The features of these boats outshine those of most cruising boats between 35ft and 48 ft.

Innovative Cruising Boat Designs extends an invitation to builders and prospective boat buyers to peruse what we offer. These designs are prestigious and lucrative to builders and a pleasure and super-safe to own.  Contact us and we will show you!

Now, we also have patent pending on a metal-constructed superfast and super shallow, cruising hull. This hull goes faster, can do what no other hull can do, and can go where no other boat its size (from 30 ft up to 500 ft) can go.  It is a must for the military.

This new hull design cannot be unveiled until a sponsor, domestic or foreign, has been found to protect the design from
unlicensed, foreign infringement.
